Saturation Patrols Nets 16 for DUI

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- As the Labor Day Holiday Weekend kicks into gear, law enforcement continues to step up its DUI patrols.Various checkpoints and saturation patrols will be taking place throughout the holiday weekend.Friday night during one such DUI saturation patrols in the greater Bakersfield area, 16 DUI arrests were made.
One driver arrested during a DUI checkpoint just last weekend was arrested again Friday night by the California Highway Patrol.In total 128 vehicles were pulled over during the patrols, of which 37 drivers were asked to take field sobriety tests.In addition to the 16 DUI's, there five other criminal arrests and nine vehicles were impounded.If anyone suspects they see a drunk driver on the roadway, the Avoid Task Force asks that you call 911.
