Small Fire Threatens Buildings Near Tehachapi
One Acre Fire Burns One Outbuilding

TEHACHAPI, Calif. -- A scare in the Tehachapi area Sunday afternoon as a fire broke out in Golden Hills at 2:22 p.m. and immediately threatened nine structures.Fire crews arrived three minutes after the fire was reported in the area of Golden Hills Boulevard and Loop Street.The 26 firefighters on-scene along with helicopter 408 were able to contain the fire to just one acre. Helicopter 408 was able to make multiple water drops to protect structures. However, one outbuilding was lost as was some fencing.
The fire was contained thought just 13 minutes after crews arrived.Structure protection units were called for, but were able to be turned away due to the quick action of initial responders and the water dropping helicopter.No word on a cause of that fire.
