Marie Osmond Collector Dolls Stolen

Annette Funicello, Boyd's Collector Bears Stolen

UPDATED: 3:30 pm PST January 27, 2012

A woman was arrested Wednesday and accused of stealing Marie Osmond collector dolls and other collectible dolls.

Kern County sheriff’s detectives said they served a search warrant in the 1200 block of Woodrow Avenue in Oildale.

The search warrant was served as the result of an investigation into a burglary that occurred at a storage building on West China Grade Loop.

During the burglary, detectives said a large number of specialty collectible items were stolen. These collectibles included die case vehicles, Marie Osmond collector’s dolls, Annette Funicello collector’s bears, and Boyd’s collector’s bears.

During the investigation only a limited number of the stolen items were recovered, detectives said.

Evidence developed during the investigation indicated some of the stolen property may have been sold to unsuspecting customers in and around Kern County, detectives said.

Although these collectibles may have been purchased without the buyer’s knowledge that they were stolen, the items are considered stolen property, detectives said.

Detectives said they developed probable cause and arrested 29-year-old Jennifer Watts on charges of burglary and grand theft.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking any person who may have purchased these items to contact Detective Jelletich at 661-391-7580.
