Testimony Conintues In Trial Against Detention Deputies
BAKERSFIELD -- The preliminary hearing for detention deputies charged with murder continued Wednesday in Superior Court.
The judge heard from a forensic pathologist who examined the body of James Moore, who died after he was involved in an altercation with several detention deputies.
The forensic pathologist described Moore's injuries that led to his death.
Three detention deputies, Roxanne Fowler, Ralph Contreras, and Daniel Lindini, are charged with murder in the case.
The pathologist told the judge she saw blood in Moore's ear canal, which would mean there was blunt force trauma to the head.
She was also given pictures of Moore's body that the prosecution is using as evidence.
She said Moore had swelling in his brain and fractures in his neck, and added there was no evidence to suggest that a disease could have caused Moore's death.
Testimony is expected to continue Thursday.
