NEAR TEHACHAPI -- Emergency crews are working to clean up the derailment of 17 train cars just east of the Tehachapi Loop.
A spokesman for the Kern County Fire Department said that 11 of the cars -- filled with flammable liquid petroleum gas -- derailed at about 8:45 p.m. on Sunday. None of the gas leaked from any of the cars.
At about 4 a.m. on Monday, while crews were working to clean up the mess, six more cars derailed. Gas began leaking from the cars, and fire crews began working to clean up the entire area.
No injuries have been reported.
