KERN COUNTY -- The Kern County Elections Department had voters come back to the polls after a snarl during the primary elections on Tuesday morning.
Within three hours of polls opening, workers corrected a problem with older voter access cards. The cards are used with electronic voting machines to access the ballots. Some of the cards did not open the ballots.
Elections officials said the incident was a vendor problem.
Voters were encouraged to come back after a few hours when the problem was eventually fixed.
