Police: Suspect Orders Pizza, Does Laundry, Attacks Woman

A Bakersfield man will appear in court on Friday after police said he was behind a bizarre robbery and attack on Wednesday.

Officers said Larcellus Scott, 23, broke into the home of Denise Bealessio, 50, on Westwold Drive in southwest Bakersfield. The Bakersfield Police Department said he found an old checkbook in the house and ordered a pizza. They said he had also done some laundry.

When Bealessio returned home, a pizza delivery man was waiting outside for her. Because she didn't order a pizza, she sent the pizza man on his way. She went inside the home, and that's when, she told police, that Bealessio attacked her. She escaped and ran to nearby Bakersfield Fire Station No. 9.

Police set up surveillance and finally arrested Scott in the home next door, where they believe he had lived two months ago.

Scott was booked into jail.

Bealessio was not harmed in the attack.
