A farmer in Colorado is making history with his hemp seeds.
He’s planting the first crop of industrial hemp in the southeastern part of that state since world war two.
The Colorado farmer says he thinks hemp will eventually be used for fuel.
Growing hemp has been illegal for decades because the government put it in the same class as cocaine and its close relative, marijuana.
Right now, hemp is used in an array of products including clothing and soaps but it’s all imported.
Analysts estimate the u-s market for hemp is in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
