BBB Raises Red Flag About Alleged AMEX Calls

The Better Business Bureau issued an alert on Friday to all Macy's customers who have a Macy's American Express card.

Cardholders in the Central Valley have been targeted by scam callers saying they need to provide information about social security numbers, phone numbers and addresses.

Caller ID information for the callers' telephone number traces back to a landline in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India.

Representatives at Macy's Fraud Analytics Department said they do not ask for private information such as social security numbers when they do contact customers.

People receiving this type of call should immediately notify Macy's Fraud Analytics Department at 866-408-7878.
