The bear that interrupted a graduation was released back into the wild Thursday afternoon.

The bear was seen roaming near Ramon Garza Elementary.

  • The bear ran into the Edison Village Apartments off of Pioneer Drive.

    Officers were able to corner the 200-pound bear and utilized a Taser to subdue it.

    Kern County Animal Control took possession of the bear and then gave the bear to officials from the Department of Fish and Game.

    There is no word on where the bear came from, how old it is, or how long it had been in the area.

    The bear was released into the wild in an undisclosed area of Kern County.
