A man who has only been married for a year and a half says he's come to the conclusion that marriage isn't for him.
Seth Adam Smith, 27, of Florida, posted the admission on his blog earlier this week and said he didn't intend to hurt his wife, but instead he realized the real reason why he got married.
"Having been married only a year and a half, I've recently come to the conclusion that marriage isn't for me," Smith wrote. "I'm going to make this really simple: marriage isn't for you," he continues.
"You don't marry to make yourself happy; you marry to make someone else happy. More than that, your marriage isn't for yourself, you're marrying for a family. Not just for the in-laws and all of that nonsense, but for your future children."
Smith's post on his blog, SethadamSmith.com (http://bit.ly/jTBttn), was viewed more than 25 million times. Some have criticized Smith's admission while others have praised him for being honest.
"When we enter into marriage, you become more of yourself as you learn to love more people and use your talents to express that love for others," said Smith. "The more you love a person in a true way, not in a co-dependent way, your own identity comes out. And that is truly a beautiful paradox."
