Virginia sheriff's deputy disciplined for leaving loaded gun behind in Macy's (M) dressing room

No one injured

NORFOLK, Va. - Leaving something behind in a department store dressing room is usually no big deal. But in this case it's not a wallet or some car keys that were forgotten. It was a loaded gun.

A Norfolk, Va., sheriff's deputy is being disciplined for leaving his weapon in a Macy's dressing room.

Officials say the deputy notified the store as soon as he realized his mistake.

The sheriff's office isn't ID'ing the deputy or saying how he is being punished.
