Debbie's Deals: List of Veterans Day deals & freebies for 2013 include Applebee's, Chili's, and more

DENVER - On Monday, Nov. 11, the country will mark Veterans Day -- a day to honor those who have served in the armed forces.

Many restaurants and businesses will honor veterans with free meals, appetizers, car washes, oil changes and other deals. The following deals have been verified for 2013. Note, some deals are for Monday, others are for different days. If you see an offer I have missed, please email me:

First, let's start with a deal that is valid for everyone. Get free admission to Rocky Mountain National Park and national parks across the country on Nov. 9-11:

Get free admission on Nov. 11 at Colorado's state parks. You will need to show military ID, discharge papers or other proof of service at the park gate. All other passengers in the vehicle will also be admitted free. Find a park:

Veterans get a free oil change at CERTAIN Grease Monkey locations in six states on Nov. 11. Veterans must show military ID or DD214. I will have a list of participating locations in the next day or two.

All six Waterway Carwash locations in the Denver metro area and Jazz Car Wash in Littleton are offering active duty and retired personnel a free basic car wash on Nov. 11.  More than 43 car wash locations across Colorado are offering a free car wash for veterans on Nov. 11, check the Grace for Vets website for a full list:

Carrabba's is offering all active duty personnel and retired veterans a free appetizer on Nov. 9-11. You will need proof of service such as military ID or dressing in your uniform. Check your nearby location to make sure they are participating:

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks is offering veterans a free meal from a special menu on SUNDAY, Nov. 10. Dine-in only. You will need military ID. Please make a reservation. Menu & details:

Veterans and active duty personnel get a free lunch or dinner buffet at Ameristar Casino Resort & Spa in Black Hawk on Nov. 11. (Lunch is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., dinner is 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.) A veteran's card or valid military ID should be presented to the buffet cashier to qualify for the complimentary meal. One free meal per person.

Veterans get a free meal at On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina on Nov. 11. Pick a "choose 2" or "choose 3" combo. You will need military ID or other proof of military service. Dine-in only.

Veterans and active duty military eat free from a special menu at Chili's on Nov. 11. Proof of service required.

Anyone who has served in the U.S. military eats free at Golden Corral on Nov. 11 from 4-9 p.m. No ID required. Dine-in only.

All veterans get a free meal from a special menu on Nov. 11 at Olive Garden. Family dining with the veteran also get 10 percent off. Military families get 10 percent off every day in November. Details:

Veterans and active duty military get a free entree from a limited menu at Applebee's on Nov. 11. Must show military ID. Beverage not included. Menu and details:

Champps Americana in Littleton is offering veterans and active duty military a free burger and fries on Nov. 11.

Texas Roadhouse is offering veterans a free lunch (and beverage) from a special menu on Nov. 11. Proof of military service required. Active, former and retired military welcome. Dine-in only.

Enjoy a free pizza at California Pizza Kitchen on Nov. 11. Proof of military service required. Dine-in only. Valid at participating locations:

Vets get free lunch at TGI Fridays on Nov. 11. Sadly, the website doesn't offer any more details. Call your local location for details: (Last year the deal was only offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., so check before you go.)

Veterans and active duty military get a free breakfast item at Village Inn on Nov. 11. Choose from pancakes, a waffle or French toast. No purchase neccesary. It appears the free breakfast offer is valid all day.

Veterans and active duty military get a free meal at Hooters, up to $10.99, on Nov. 11. Must show proof of service and buy a drink.

Paciugo Gelato Caffe is offering veterans and troops a free 12 oz. gelatte on Nov. 11 at participating locations. In Colorado, the free treat is being offered at locations in Lakewood and Loveland.

Get a free doughnut and small coffee at Krispy Kreme on Nov. 11. You'll need to present your military ID or wear your uniform for the free treat. No purchase neccesary. Not valid at grocery or convenience stores. You may have to pay sales tax.

Many Sport Clips locations will offer free haircuts to active-duty U.S. service members and veterans on Nov. 11 with valid proof of service. For a list of participating stores:

I've heard Outback, Red Lobster and Red Robin will be offering a Veterans Day deal. However, until I see it posted and verify it, I cannot publish the information.
