The last remaining founder of an East Side Crip gang subset has been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.
Tommy Davidson is one of the last original members of the East Side Crips and a major shot caller.
Davidson was convicted of killing another gang member, Jesse Hill, in March 2009.
Police said Hill was trying to get out of the Stroller Boys gang, which Davidson was also a founder of, so that he could turn his life around.
The district attorney's office said Davidson, who was a longtime family friend of Hill's, considered that disrespectful and killed him.
A judge sentenced Davidson Tuesday morning to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The district attorney's office is calling this case a major victory in the fight against gangs.
Tonight at on ABC23 news at 5 and 6 p.m., we'll bring you more reaction from the family and how Davidson's sentence is changing the lives of countless other gang members.
