She is more than halfway through the Broadcast Meteorology program at Mississippi State University, and loves applying that knowledge to your morning KernCast23.

Previously, she graduated from Chico State in 2006 with a major in Journalism with a concentration in News Editorial, along with a minor in Psychology.

She completed seven media internships while in college, spanning across radio, television, and newspaper. Elaina also spent a semester abroad in London studying Fine Arts and Humanities.

She started her broadcasting career in Yakima, WA as a producer/reporter.

Then after a few months there, she jumped to a reporter/anchor position in Lawton, OK for a year and a half, chasing storms on the weekends!

Elaina came to Bakersfield as a reporter/videojournalist, then moved to full time positions as an anchor/producer and now morning forecaster.
