Officials with the Army Corps of Engineers said an earthquake fault running beneath Lake Isabella Dam is active, but said it's unlikely the dam is in danger.

A study commissioned by the Corps of Engineers found evidence of at least one earthquake during the past 5,000 years along the Kern Canyon Fault.

Based on that, they said they may relist the fault as active.

The dam has come under recent attention after seepage problems were discovered.

Army officials said the repair job could cost upwards of $100 million, but funding problems could delay repairs by five years.
