BAKERSFIELD JAZZ FESTIVAL
Every genre of jazz will be out to play at the 27th annual Bakersfield Jazz Festival at CSUB. People and musicians from all around will be at this year's festival and it's about more than the music. Over the years, the proceeds have provided over half a million dollars in scholarships to CSUB students. Tickets for students and CSUB alumni with alumni ID are $35 and general admission is $50. Gates open at 3 p.m.
JAY MOHR AT THE FOX THEATER
Comedian Jay Mohr will be at the Fox Theater Saturday night. Mohr is an actor, radio host and best-selling author. His stand-up starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $40. The Fox Theater is located at 2001 H Street.
MOTHER'S DAY FASHION SHOW
Want to celebrate Mother's Day early? You can take your mom to the 21st annual Mother's Day fashion faire and luncheon at the Petroleum Club at 10 a.m. Mom can enjoy a day full of fashion, have a catered lunch and maybe win some prizes during the raffle drawing. Tickets are $30 each.
Get a little taste of Cajun food today at the 16th annual Crawfish Festival. It is from noon to 6 p.m. at the Prime Cut on 9500 Brimhall Road. Enjoy all you can eat crawfish, live music and entertainment for kids. Tickets are $55 for adults and $15 for children under age 12.
BUENA VISTA MUSEUM PALEO DIGS
It's your chance to be a paleontologist for a day with the Buena Vista Museum of Natural History and Science. If you're a member or become a member you can join the museum field guides on an adventure to the quarries near Shark Tooth Hill. The cost is $85 for the day. It's another Saturday night of races at the Bakersfield Speedway. Tonight's races include street stocks, hobby stocks, hard tops and more. Gates open at 4 and races start at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and military, and $5 for kids ages 6 through 12. Bakersfield Speedway is located at 5001 North Chester Avenue.
WILDFIRE AWARENESS EXPO
The Kern County Fire Department is holding a Wildfire Awareness Expo in Lake Isabella to provide the community with valuable information on wildfire awareness, hazard reduction and emergency preparedness. The expo is from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Uffert Park.

INAUGURAL CYCLOFEMME RIDE
Bike Bakersfield and La Bicicleta Boutique will be hosting Bakersfield's inaugural Cyclofemme ride. It is an international ride that was started to celebrate and promote women on bikes. The Bakersfield ride will begin at 9 a.m. at La Bicicleta Boutique located at 1820 G Street. Riders will head to Riverwalk Park, turn around, and finish at La Bicicleta Boutique. Refreshments will be available afterwards.
ELI YOUNG BAND AT THE FOX THEATER
In the mood for something country? Come enjoy the sounds of rising country music group the Eli Young Band at the Fox Theater. The band will take the stage at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $31.50 to $34.50.

The Oscar-winning film "Titanic" will be showing today at the Edwards Stadium 14. The film tells the story of a teenage aristocrat who falls in love with a poor, starving artist while sailing on the ill-fated maiden voyage of the Titanic. The film starts at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $7.50 for adults and $7.00 for kids and seniors.
The Crystal Palace is hosting their annual "Mother's Day Family Brunch" today. Take mom and the whole family to enjoy a large selection of breakfast favorites.
