Five Local Teens Arrested In Videotaped Beating Case

Five Bakersfield have been arrested on suspicion of beating up a fellow classmate, videotaping the attack, and posting it on the Internet.

The three female and two male suspects -- as well as the victim -- all attend Centennial High School, though the alleged incident happened at a home on Patton Way.

Officials said the teens posted the video on Myspace.com. When sheriff's officials were alerted of the incident, they obtained the tape and arrested the students. They said the three girls were the main suspects, and the two boys assisted.

The teens were arraigned in a juvenile courtroom on Tuesday. They each face several charges, including torture and assault with a deadly weapon.

They will be back in court on Sept. 21.
