Facebook group brings joy with 'card bombs,' surprises 100-year-old on her birthday

LOGANSPORT, Ind. - A Logansport woman who turned 100 on Aug. 14 is still enjoying the birthday cards she received a month later.
The Pharos-Tribune reports Dorothy Kiester received almost 200 cards as the result of a Facebook post.
The Facebook group "Pay it Forward Carroll County" posted a request to send cards to Kiester. Grandson Kent Kiester says he's still reading some of the 180 cards to his grandmother each time he visits.
The organizers of the Facebook effort decided to start the group after celebrating a national "Pay It Forward" day a few years ago. The women prefer to remain anonymous as they card-bomb local residents and find other ways to give back to the community.
