Law: Public pools required to post diarrhea sign

Law went into effect September 1, 2012

We've all been told not to do it in the pool, and now a recent California law has swimmers taking a second look before diving in.

23 ABC's Erin Briscoe took a picture of this sign at a public pool which states, "Persons having currently active diarrhea or who have had active diarrhea within the previous 14 days shall not be allowed to enter the pool water."

Even Erin was going to stay clear of the water and just enjoy the sunshine from the lounge chair until she found out the sign is required to be posted at all public pools effective September 1, 2012 as part of the California Building Code.

Erin Briscoe co-anchors Good Morning Kern County on 23ABC from 5am until 7am. Like Erin's Facebook page here  or follow her on Twitter
