PHOENIX, Ariz. - Phoenix police say an embrace turned deadly when a woman was fatally shot as her boyfriend removed a gun from his waistband.
Police say the 18-year-old man was hugging his 24-year-old girlfriend on Tuesday when he went to remove the gun because she was uncomfortable hugging because of the gun.
The gun discharged, fatally wounding the woman who's been identified as Amanda Mosley.
The name of the man hasn't been released yet.
Police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson says the shooting apparently was accidental, but the case will go to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office for review.
