You just got engaged and are about to be married, but how far would you go to get out of it?
According to the Daily Mail , one man faked his own death. Unfortunately, the lie unraveled as quickly as he told it.
Tucker Blanford, and Alex Lanchester, both 23, met at a movie theater in 2012 on the campus of the University of Connecticut, the Daily Mail reports. Lanchester was studying abroad here in the United States.
As love stories go, Blanford proposed as Lanchester was preparing to head back to Britain. A wedding date was set for August 15 of this year.
However, that wedding never happened and the date has already passed.
Daily Mail reports that months before the wedding, the bride-to-be received a phone call that her fiance' had died in a car crash.
But, when she phoned his parents to offer her condolences, they said their son was alive and well.
"He has shattered my trust and I'm not sure I'll ever be in a relationship again. All I ever did was love him. I'm so sick of being messed around and I'm glad to be rid of him," she told the Daily Mail.
