Zoo in China is under fire for replacing a lion with a dog

Zoo says the lion was on loan for breeding

(AP) -- A zoo in central China is being accused of passing off dogs as some of its zoo animals.
The Beijing Youth Daily says the zoo had a Tibetan mastiff in the lion's cage.
The Tibetan mastiff is a large dog that has a lion-like appearance, but it still barks like a dog. The zoo says the real lion was being lent out for breeding.
The paper says the zoo also had a dog in the wolf cage, foxes in the leopard enclosure and nutrias in the snake den.
