BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield police assigned to the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Detail said they arrived at the hospital on Thursday around 6 p.m., when a 14-month-old boy was hospitalized with a broken leg.

Officials said the investigation showed the boy had numerous bruises, abrasions, broken bones and internal bleeding on the brain. 

Detectives said they found and arrested 21-year-old Lissett Jurado, of Bakersfield, for child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon. 

The boy is still at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.
