OILDALE, Calif. -

A 14-year-old driver of a stolen vehicle was arrested after a patrol car and helicopter pursuit on Oct. 21, at about 12:19 a.m.

A Kern County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a blue Honda Accord near North Chester Ave. and Hughes Ave. in Oildale because the car was being driven with no lights.

The driver of the car failed to yield and eventually drove into a fence on Sequoia Street south of Decatur Street after a 3 minute pursuit by Sheriff’s Deputies and the Sheriff’s Helicopter.

Deputies arrested the driver and two passengers of the car and their investigation revealed the car was stolen.

The 14-year-old juvenile driver was booked into Juvenile Hall after being arrested for auto theft, possession of stolen property, reckless driving, reckless evading, possession of burglary tools and conspiracy to commit a crime.

18-year-olds Bryan Reyes and Fernando Cruz were passengers in the car and were booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Central Receiving Facility after being arrested for possession of stolen property and conspiracy to commit a crime.
