BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield firefighters found a 14-year-old girl suffering from smoke inhalation as they fought a fire at an apartment in South Bakersfield, Thursday.
Officials said the apartment on Karma Court between Monitor Street and Pacheco Road was abandoned.
Firefighters were able to put of the flames quickly. They said that they found the young girl inside the apartment and had to carry her out due to her injuries.
Fire officials believe there was a total of $100,000 in damages. No one else was hurt and the fire was contained to one apartment.
Arson investigators are on scene to help figure out what may have started the fire.
