19 high school teams compete in mock trials to judge student legal talents

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - On Saturday Jan. 26, High school teams among the county competed in a series of mock trial rounds where students had the opportunity to participate as prosecution attorneys, defense attorneys, defendants and witnesses in a simulated case.

The event concludes two months of competition. High schools and will be held at Kern County Superior Court. The winning school will represent the county at the California Mock Trial in March in Riverside.

The 10 schools with the top team scores will also be announced, as will the Honor Court comprised of the top two students from each school, as determined by the judges.
