A Tehachapi man was arrested Thursday evening after deputies said he was selling drugs.
At about 6:45 p.m., deputies from the Tehachapi substation conducted a probation search at a home in the 20900 block of Brentwood Drive in Tehachapi.
Deputies said they found almost an ounce of methamphetamine and 59 Xanax tablets, both possessed with the intent to sale.
Deputies said they found morphine tablets, marijuana, glass smoking pipes and syringes.
Patrick Ballard, age 54, of Tehachapi was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of narcotics for sale, possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics, possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
Also arrested was Carolyn Newton, age 47 of Tehachapi, on a charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
