BAKERSFIELD - Two men were arrested Wednesday in connection to the disappearance of a Bakersfield woman.
Andrea Russell disappeared before May 7 under suspicious circumstances, according to Sgt. Joe Grubbs with the Bakersfield Police Department.
Police have reason to believe Russell is dead and are searching for her body, according to Grubbs.
Bakersfield police detectives, based on information recovered at another crime scene, responded to a home where they located a vehicle wanted in connection to the disappearance of Russell.
Detectives found a matching Chevrolet Suburban in the surveillance photograph from the Super 8 motel where Russell was last seen.
Detectives searched that home in the 300 block of War Admiral Drive. Information there led detectives to a different home in Lamont.
There detectives located the second suspect vehicle, the red import sedan, also seen at Super 8.
Detectives interviewed and arrested Ruben Castro, 33, of Bakersfield, and Daniel Norzagaray, 22, of Lamont.
Castro was arrested for Murder and Conspiracy and Norzagaray was arrested for Accessory and Conspiracy.
Detectives are still searching for leads into the whereabouts of Andrea Russell’s body.
This investigation is on-going and anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Don Cegielski at (661) 326-3552 or the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 326-7111.
