Unrelated crashes cause 2 deaths

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - An unknown man was driving a motorcycle northbound on Manor Street, south of China Grade Loop drive around 50 miles per hour around 6 p.m. Friday night. 

Officials said the driver made an unsafe turn and drifted off of the road. 

Highway patrol reported that the man lost control and was thrown off the motorcycle onto the road.

Officials said the man was taken to Kern Medical center where he later died. 

In a separate incident 23-year-old Cruz Hernandez was driving a car when the car left the road at China Grade Loop and Alfred Harrell Highway and overturned, officials said.

Kern County Sheriff's Department reported that Hernandez died at the scene around 10 p.m. as a result of his injuries,
