BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Two California Highway Patrol officers that allegedly sexually assaulted a woman have resigned.

Officials said the two officers resigned on Oct. 5.

The woman was allegedly assaulted on Sept. 16, for a DUI, but instead of arresting her for the charges, the officers followed her to her home where it was reported she was assaulted.

The District Attorney has not received the report regarding the case from the Kern County Sheriff's Department, which is handling the investigation.
