Woman arrested and charged after 2-year-old girl found dead with trauma in a car

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A woman has been arrested in the death of a two-year-old girl in Bakersfield.
Bakersfield Police say 20-year-old Wendy Guadalupe Gomez was arrested for felony willful harm to a child causing injury or death.
Bakersfield police officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Chester Lane regarding a check the welfare of a child Friday at about 11:03 p.m., according to officials from the BPD.
The child was inside a vehicle and was not breathing, officials said.
Upon arrival officers located a girl about 2 years old, who had suffered obvious trauma to her lower extremities, officials said.
Officers attempted to render first aid, but the child had died, officials said..
Police have not confirmed if Gomez was the mother of the child, but she's scheduled to be in court on Tuesday.
