2018 Kern County Fair new attractions, opening Wednesday

It's that time of year again and the Kern County Fair is back. 

Officials are expecting 450,000 people to attend this year. The fair will last 12 days beginning September 19. Take a look at the new attractions below: 

Kids Can Cook - KC's Farmhouse

Education & entertainment theme from the farm to the table. Over the last few generations, America has become a fast food nation where kids are no longer exposed to simple, healthy cooking. "Kids Can Cook™" is not only a show, but an interactive program

that introduces kids to how fun and simple it is to create delicious, healthy farm fresh recipes.

Russ Leno, Pumpkin Carver - KC's Farmhouse

Russ Leno started carving pumpkins for his kids over 30 years ago just for fun. He still enjoys it but now he is making a living sculpting some of the most amazing designs you'd ever imagine. From Medusa to the wicked witch -- leno has carefully carved his way into an industry few people ever dream of trying. Come to the NEW KC's Farmhouse located Just outside Building#1 and next to the NEW KC's Farm for a LIVE demonstration.

Brad's World Reptile Exhibit - KC Loop

All day interactive exhibit.

Brad's World Reptile Exhibit offers the opportunity for others to learn about, view, and even touch some of the most beautiful and exotic animals on our planet. Unique and mysterious, reptiles, amphibians, and other exotic animals raise both hairs and curiosities.

Ag - Ventureland - KC's Corner

This is an agricultural interactive, activity exhibit. Kids will get to experience what it would feel like to live on a farm. With activities such as milking a cow, steer roping, pedal tractors, scarecrow building, egg to market and so much more. This is an all Free activity area the kids won't want to miss.

Monster Trucks - Sat. Sept. 22 - COORS Grandstand

Big Blown Bad Boy Monster Trucks, just like you see on TV, doing wild power wheelies, and thrilling all in attendance. This is a great fun family event, and a break from the every week Stock Car Shows and excitement for fairgoers to enjoy.

Lucha Libre Wrestling - Sun. Sept. 23 - COORS Grandstand

Lucha Libre Wrestling at the 2018 Kern County Fair. What can you expect to see? Colorful masks, flamboyant personalities and a whole lot of Spandex, it's an edge-of-your-seat spectacle like no other, and something that shouldn't be missed. This is always a Kern County Favorite!
