BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -
22 people were arrested near Union Avenue on Friday for activity related to prostitution.
The Bakersfield Police Department and the Kern County Sheriff’s Department Joint Vice Task Force conducted an undercover prostitution suppression operation “John Sting.”
The operation was conducted on Union Avenue, an area known to have a high rate of prostitution related activity.
The operation focused on the men who solicit female prostitutes.
As a result of this investigation 22 people were arrested for the following violations:
21 suspects were arrested for solicitation of prostitution, included in the solicitation arrests was one subject arrested for possession of a loaded firearm; two juveniles were arrested for solicitation of prostitution, conspiracy, and possession of marijuana; one adult was arrested for solicitation of prostitution, conspiracy, possession of marijuana, and child endangerment.
One man was also arrested in the area for an active felony warrant.
