25 arrested during sweep

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Twenty-five people were arrested Friday morning following a multi-jurisdiction enforcement sweep.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Bakersfield Police Department, the Kern County Probation  Department, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Parole Office, and the California Highway  Patrol, conducted a directed enforcement operation in two areas of west Bakersfield.

Both areas were targeted due to a significant increase in reported property crimes, including residential burglaries, vehicle burglaries, and auto thefts, over the last year. The investigation was also the result of numerous citizen complaints that were received from citizens living in these neighborhoods, including citizens involved in Neighborhood Watch programs in both city and county jurisdictions.

The directed enforcement operation was conducted after a three month investigation into ongoing criminal activities in these areas. During the investigation 62 individuals who were either on probation or parole were identified  living in these areas.

These individuals were believed to possibly be involved in reported crimes in the area or have a high risk for repeated offenses. The operation consisted of parole and probation contacts, saturation patrol, and undercover surveillance of ongoing criminal activity. In addition, about 60 locations were searched.

As a result of the investigation, the following suspects were arrested for their listed charges:

  • Jeffrey Clyde Tudor, 24 years of age, arrested for possession of paraphernalia.
  • Christopher Randolph Gordy, 37 years of age, arrested for possession of prescription drugs and violation of probation.
  • David Scott Gobuty, 43 years of age, arrested for possession of marijuana, felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of ammunition.
  • David Lee Marics, 34 years of age, arrested for vehicle code violations.
  • Aaron Michael Madison, 42 years of age, arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of ammunition.
  • Gilbert Gutierrez, arrested for violation of parole.
  • Eric Goros, arrested for possession of marijuana.
  • Jasmine Medina, 21 years of age, arrested for being under the influence of a controllled substance, and possession of metal knuckles.
  • Ronnie Laughlin, 42 years of age, arrested for being under the influence of a conrolled substance.
  • Dane Charles Palmer, 54 years of age, arrested for felon in possession of ammunition, and resisting arrest.
  • Deserie Cox, 23 years of age, arrested for possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an outstaning warrant.
  • Bryce Gentry, 32 years of age, arrested for violation of parole.
  • Tommy Dupree, 41 years of age, arrested for violation of parole.
  • Alyssa Smith, 28 years of age, arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Richard Gutierrez, 31 years of age, arrested for vehicle code violations.
  • Miguel Saenz, 27 years of age, arrested for being an unlicensed driver.
  • Stacy Lee Jones, 45 years of age, arrested for vehicle code violations.
  • Dick Coon, 23 years of age, arrested for drug related charges.
  • Brandy Rogers, 37 years of age, arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance, and an outstanding warrant.
  • Jennifer Joseph, 39 years of age, arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance, and violation of parole.
  • Rocky Scott, 28 years of age, arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and transportation of a controlled substance.
  • Matthew Allen Moss, 21 years of age, arrested for possession of prescription drugs, and possession  of a dirk/dagger.
  • Alfredo Arrellano Jr., 19 years of age, arrested for possession of marijuana.
  • A male juvenile, arrested for possession of marijuana.
  • A male juvenile, arrested for an outstanding warrant.


In addition, 5 firearms, 1 stolen vehicle, and additional stolen property were recovered as a result of the investigation.

This investigation and operation was made possible because of the cooperation of concerned citizens who live in these targeted area. The investigation is ongoing.
