BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man was found dead with a gunshot wound in Bakersfield Thursday evening.
On Thursday, Dec. 12, at about 9:51 p.m., Bakersfield Police Officers went to the 200 block of Hayes Street for a report of shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found an man suffering from a gunshot wound and was he pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed the victim, 29-year-old Earnest Ramon Dixon, was shot in the front yard of a house in the 200 block of Hayes Street. Neighbors said they heard about 5 to 7 gunshots.
A canvass of the scene revealed shell casings to the front of the house where the victim was shot.
There were no witnesses and there is no known suspect information at this time.
It is unknown if the incident is gang related.
