Hundreds of people gathered Thursday morning to pray for the city of Bakersfield in the coming year.
The 33rd annual Bakersfield Prayer Breakfast was held at Rabobank Convention Center. The local tradition is billed as one of the largest prayer breakfasts in the nation.
Organizers say it's a way to start the new year on a positive note through the power of faith.
Tickets were $15 for individuals and $400 for tables of 8.
This morning's keynote speakers were Bill and Laurie Bolthouse.
