Officers with the Bakersfield Police Department are searching for the shooters involved in the fatal shooting of a Bakersfield woman.

Police said that on Monday at about 11:40 p.m., officers were sent to the 700 block of L Street regarding a shooting.

Officers said they found 40-year-old Laura Porras suffering from gunshot wounds. Porras was taken to a local hospital where she died a short time later.

Preliminary investigation into the shooting revealed that Porras was standing to the front of an apartment complex, when a pick-up truck stopped to the front of the apartment complex.

Officials said the passengers in the vehicle fired several rounds at the group striking Porras.

The suspect vehicle then left southbound on L Street.
