BAKERSFIELD - A 5-year-old boy's death was ruled an accident due to heat stroke, officials said Monday.
Fernando Velasquez wandered out of his home on April 29. He climbed into his family's vehicle and fell asleep.
He was found unresponsive and died in the hospital May 5.
According to Kids and Cars , Fernando is the fifth child to die from heatstroke inside a car this year, two of which happened in California.
