BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - February is National Prevent-A-Litter Month and the observance of World Spay Day.
Second District Supervisor Zack Scrivner and Kern County Animal Services have partnered together to sponsor a spay/neuter day for unincorporated Kern County residents living in a targeted area in the Second District.
Nearly 50 surgeries will take place where dogs and cats will be spayed/neutered for free.
In addition, dogs and cats will be vaccinated, micro chipped and dogs old enough will receive a one year County license at no charge.
World Spay Day is an annual campaign of The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International.
