50 plants of pot seized during raid

Deputies said they found over 50 marijuana plants and arrested a man during a raid Friday afternoon.

At about 1 p.m., deputies assigned to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rosamond and Boron Substations served a search warrant for an illegal marijuana cultivation at a Duplex in the 5500 block of Rhyolite Avenue, in Rosamond.  

Once inside the home, deputies said they found both bedrooms had been converted into elaborate marijuana grows.  

Deputies said they seized fifty mature, fully budded, marijuana plants.  

Ten of the plants were freshly cut and being processed.

Two people were located inside the residence. 

Deputies from the Major Violators Unit responded and took custody of the plants.  Officers assigned to Kern County Code Compliance responded to the location.

Following interviews of the subjects located in the residence, one of the subjects, Thomas Moran, age 23, of Rosamond, was issued a citation by Code Compliance for a violation of Kern County Ordinance Code 5.85 – Marijuana Cultivation Violation.
