600+ Bakersfield kids learn about animals, tractors at Frontier High's 'Food for America' event

Frontier has done event for 7 years

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - More then 600 kids learned about farm animals, crops, tractors, branding and other agricultural topics today.

Kindergartners and first graders went to Frontier High School's football field for an FFA event, 'Food for America'. 

Students were given the opportunity to engage in educational booths and workshops.  Students also were allowed in a petting zoo, pony rides, and tractor displays.

Frontier FFA students hope that the kids in attendance left with a better understanding of the importance of agriculture in their life and in Kern County.

Frontier High has been hosting this event for seven years.
