OILDALE, Calif. - An elderly woman crashed into her own house, according to county officials.
On March 22, at about 10:30 a.m., officers with the Kern County Sheriff's Office went to Olympic Drive regarding a car that crashed in a home.
Officers said when they arrived they had found a woman in her 70s behind the wheel of the car.
According to officers, the woman pulled into the driveway of what was said to be her home and was trying to put the car in park. The woman reportedly said she meant to brake, but instead hit the gas, sending her car into shrubs in front of her house.
The Kern County Fire Department was called out to the scene, as well, and the woman was taken to a local hospital.
The woman is okay and suffered no injuries, according to officials.
