BAKERSFIELD - A 911 Caller alerted Police to a suspected drunken driver who crashed into a street light right in front of officers.
It happened at at 8:16 pm Wednesday at the Intersection of Truxtun Avenue and Oak Street in Central Bakersfield.
Police say the 911 caller was actually a retired Sheriff Deputy who noticed the 24-year old woman driving erratically.
He followed her Silver Toyota Celica and kept Police aware of her location and they set up a perimeter to catch her.
They were waiting at Truxtun and Oak when the woman drove up and slammed into the pole. She failed a breathalyzer test and was arrested for driving under the influence.
Police say she has at least one prior DUI Conviction.
