BAKERSFIELD, Calif, - A Bakersfield man has been hospitalized with what is being described as "extreme injuries" after he was hit by a car and that driver did not stay to help CHP said.
The accident happened just before 9 p.m. Friday night on Mount Vernon Avenue, just south of Virginia.
According to CHP a man was driving a silver dodge charger hit the pedestrian and sped away.
All southbound lanes were blocked by emergency crews. There is no further information on the mans conditions.
So far, the driver has not been found.
