BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Highway 99 is back to normal after an early morning accident that CHP said may have been caused by the weather.
The accident occurred at about 2 a.m., on the road that connects southbound 99 to eastbound Highway 58.
The CHP said a jack-knifed big rig blocked traffic for more than an hour after the driver slammed on his brakes to avoid a slowed car.
It took Caltrans crews about an hour to clean up the mess.
