Arvin man attacked outside of market

Victim taken to local hospital for treatment

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - An Arvin man was hospitalized late Wednesday night after an attack outside a mini-mart.

Arvin Police officers were called to the parking lot of the Alshaif Market at 801 Haven Drive at 8:22 p.m. about a fight.

Officers found the victim, identified as Esteban Alvarez, 20, with several lacerations on his face, back, and right arm.

Esteban told investigators that three unidentified men assaulted him in front of the market, then ran away. Esteban was taken to a Bakersfield-area hospital for treatment.
