BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - At least one person was hospitalized following an early morning crash in Northwest Bakersfield.
According to Bakersfield Police Sgt. Jason Townsend, the accident happened at approximately 2:30am Friday morning after two trucks collided at the intersection of Brimhall & Calloway Roads.
A witness spoke to 23ABC's Lauren Titus moments after the crash and said one of the trucks ran a red light.
"The white truck came out of nowhere and just caught him on the front end," said Peter Ricapa. "I remember... pulling over and hopping out, trying to get [the driver] out of the vehicle as quickly as possible just to make sure he was OK."
A woman in one pickup truck was unresponsive and taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Townsend said investigators are trying to determine whether alcohol played a role in the accident.
