BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Members of a local pro-choice group are planning to protest a proposed abortion law at tonight's Bakersfield city council meeting.
Jennifer Smith, an organizer for pro-choice Kern County, said dozens of supporters will show up wearing pink to speak out against the 'human life ordinance.'
The measure was drafted by Tim Palmquist, a long-time local pro-life supporter. The issue is not expected to be discussed at tonight's meeting, but Smith said they're trying to get the word out early.
