Bakersfield area strike teams sent to Riverside County fire in southern California

FD: Fire is ten percent contained

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Officials are saying three homes and three mobile homes have now been destroyed in the 'Mountain Fire,' which is burning near Idyllwild in Riverside County.

The fire started Monday and has burned about 8,000 acres. At  least 50 other homes have been evacuated.

It's only ten percent contained, according to fire officials.

And local strike teams are on the fire's front lines, as well.

The Kern County Fire Department sent engines from Stallion Springs, Glennville, Edison, north Oildale, and South Lake yesterday.

The strike team leader from Battalion Six in Rosedale and an assistant strike team leader were also sent to help out.
